Black and Brown homeschooling families lack community and access to educational support, with children often facing barriers for growth and learning opportunities. There is a gap in resources and opportunities for these families to connect and learn together. This app aims to bridge the gap by fostering community and providing safe spaces for families to connect and engage in educational activities.
Research & Planning
Conducted interviews with Black and Brown mothers to understand their homeschooling challenges. This insight shaped the app’s social features and event-based design.
Design & Prototyping
Designed lo-fi, mid-fi, and high-fi wireframes, focusing on creating an intuitive and welcoming interface. I worked extensively on the event pages, ensuring that users could easily find and register for community events.
Testing & Optimization
Continuously tested the social feature with target users, iterating on features like avatar creation and event sign-ups to ensure seamless user experience.
